Founder and Owner
Erica started dancing in her youth. Her inspiration came from her native country of Argentina, home of the Argentine Tango. Her love for dance, later led her to both a professional and competitive career.
In her competitive career Erica trained with the top coaches in the world, in the International Standard Division, competing nationally and internationally for 13 years. She competed in the top competitions in the world such as Blackpool Dance Festival, International and UK Open. She was ranked amongst the top 12 in the nation and was 2nd in the US in the Classic Showdance Division., which led her to the World Championship in Leipzig Germany as US representative. “My intention was never to turn my passion into a business. And it still isn’t. When you do what you love, it seems to take care of itself.”
Ellina Veres was born in Stavropol, Russia, and has been dancing her entire life. Her mother worked as a professional dance instructor and choreographer in the Soviet Union, and passed on her passion for the arts to her daughter. From 3 years old, Ellina was introduced to the fundamentals of dance through Russian Ballet and Rhythmic Gymnastics. By the age of 9, she attended a professional Russian dance academy, where she began training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Latin, Folk, and Character Dancing.
When she was 16, Ellina and her mother relocated to the United States. She continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Dance. While pursuing her degree, she trained with several nationally recognized coaches.
Ellina has dedicated her career to the art of dance, and shares her lifelong passion by teaching, coaching, and choreographing both youth and adults around the Charlotte Metro area.

With 25 years of experience dancing and competing at International level, Darinka is a nine time National Champion in her home country of Serbia. Her achievements and talents granted her a permanent residency in the US. In 2011, Darinka chose to establish herself in Charlotte, where is is now as active performer, teacher and competitor. She is a regular finalist in US competitions in the International Latin division Darinka serves on the board of the Youth Dance Foundation and performs in the “Dancing With The Stars of Charlotte” benefitting the Pink House. She has also shared her talents with the Charlotte Symphony for the KnightSounds Series, Boys & Girls Clubs of Gastonia and in the YMCA’s "Ballroom Dance Battles”.

EMILY & TREVOR GUTHRIE
Trevor and Emily, native to Idaho and Utah, moved to North Carolina in 2014 to pursue their professional careers. Together they hold five US National Championship titles in ballroom dancing. Along with their competitive careers Trevor and Emily have been invited to perform around the world including China, Hong Kong, Germany, Switzerland, England, and various cities throughout the United States.
Trevor and Emily have been dancing for 15 years studying both Ballroom and Latin styles of dance. During those 15 years they completed a degree in ballroom dance and achieved the highest honor awarded in Dance Proficiency Examinations while at Brigham Young University. Trevor and Emily have been married for 4 years and in March 2018 they are excited to introduce to the world a baby boy, the future dance champion.
FELIPE G EDMISTON
Felipe, a native of Colombia, South America, moved to the United States when he was 14. A year later, he discovered his passion for dance and began competing in International Latin as a pro-am. He accelerated as an amateur and turned professional four years ago. Felipe has worked under the instruction of world-class coaches. Currently, he dances as a Latin professional competitor with his partner, Darinka Divljak.
During his years as a dance instructor, Felipe developed a love for working with children. In 2007, he founded the nonprofit Youth Dance Foundation to bring kids from diverse cultures and backgrounds together through dance. In 2016, Felipe helped create DWTS of Charlotte to benefit Carolina Breast Friends. He is co-founder and producer of the annual show. Midtown Ballroom and it’s team of professional dancers are the exclusive providers of practice space and dance instruction to our Charlotte stars."
Paul is of Italian descent, but was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. His dancing career spans for more than 20 years. Paul is a professional dance instructor, accredited with DanceSport Australia. In 2011, Paul and his dance partner, Masha Khazanova, became the champions of South Pacific Dancesport Championship in Amateur Standard division and shortly thereafter they decided to turn professional. 2013 was a successful year for Paul and Masha. After having won the Australian Professional 10-Dance Championship and ranking 2nd in Standard, they represented Australia in the World Professional 10-Dance Championship in Moscow. Paul and Masha also achieved great results in the United States, taking the Champion title in Professional Rising Star Ballroom division at the Millennium Dancesport Championship and the Heart of America Championship.

Originally from Cuba, Yusimi received a scholarship to study music in the United States; Yusimi is a gifted pianist and accomplished opera singer. After completing his education in Florida, Yusimi moved to Charlotte, NC where he began his dance career, training with nationally and internationally known coaches and competing in Ballroom and Latin Dancing.
